My blog is constantly
being updated!!!

Welcome to my blog!
Thanks so much for dropping by my blog and taking a peak.  Now I never claim to know everything, or be perfect, or even being able to spell!  I work really hard to not only be a good photographer, but personal connections to my clients and understanding what they want (especially when they might not know) is something I strive for every day.  In addition I love to help others improve their own pictures.  Let's face it...no one can afford a personal photographer to follow them around 24/7 (but if you do know someone give them my name!).  My blog has a collection of advise, current photo experiences and the personal updates.  I'm ALWAYS in need to know what other people want to hear about, so please email me with ANY suggestions.  Again thanks for stoping by and hopefully you enjoy!

What a fun and positive day!  The annual March of Dimes, March For Babies was this weekend on April 26th.  The fundraiser is focused to raise money to add in more research into preventing birth defects, premature births, and infant mortality.  Let me tell you...the amount of families there with multiples is astounding!  There was free food, free kids games, free entertainment and most importantly FREE BLUEBELL ICE CREAM!

This is the second year I've been apart of this event and let me tell you it's such a great event.  I was so honored to see my company name in the special thanks sign (picture below lower left).  That really touched me and I look forward to future events with March of Dimes.

Taking pets pictures is tricky for the most talented photographer.  Biggest trick is playing with them before and get them tired first.  A good hour for hyperactive animals!  This will improve your pictures dramatically.

I got back yesterday from laying my grandmother to rest after her long fight with her health.  She was a character and in the last year especially, she had to battle every day with such pain that her spirit was a shell of what it used to be.  I'm sad she's left our family but know she is free of the weight she had with such hardships.  The irony of it all was at the grave sit during the reading, a load bird off in the distance keep chattering on.  For those of use that knew her it was like her last good bye...she was a very honest and opinionated woman.  So we felt it was her way of telling us we were doing something wrong and it made us all smile.  My grandfather especially that had been married for over 66 years!  That's why we loved her so much and miss her greatly.

There are 3 top tips I can recommend to those that just want better pictures but don't want to spend the time to learn about photography.

  1. Notice a bit of a cold coloring to your pictures?  If your outside, change the color setting from auto to cloudy.  This makes your pictures more rich.
  2. Set your quality level to the highest possible (not RAW unless you know how to work with it).  This makes your images sharper and can allow you to zoom in if you need to and have less pixilated effect.
  3. Try using the fill flash or flash on mode, this is great for sunny outdoor shots where you put the subject under the shade of a tree.  It tells the camera to lighten your foreground (the subject) and the background is bright.  Just remember most camera flashes are good for up to 10 ft.
